it is claimed that the pulse of a wronged woman returns to normal 20 per cent quicker after a well-timed 'sorry' than without it.

Unfortunately for men, a male heartbeat takes longer to recover after an apology than without, according to the research, suggesting that men become irritated when there is an admission of guilt.

My wife trained me years ago to begin and end each day with an "I'm sorry, Hon."

She tells me that its unimportant that I know why I'm saying it, just git 'er done.

And, seeing the intensity in those beautiful starring-right-at-me baby blue eyes, I smile and agree without hesitation.

I'm almost certain that that gives my life an aura of quietitute that it otherwise would not have.
