Since vampire mania took hold of the world a few years back, teens throughout the country have been showing affection through biting each other. Now with the third Twilight in theaters, True Blood back on the small screen and a slew of others in circulation – the trend in resurfacing. High schoolers say it’s a way to show someone you care about them and that you are chosen- just like in the movies. Bite marks have now even started to be a status symbol. Um, Im a biter (and a scratcher) but it has nothing to do with vampires. I dont watch the Twilight movies but I am a big True Blood fan.
Its just another lame fad that will pass away soon enough.

It has nothing to do with those movies, more than five years ago I got into that sort of thing. It's just fun, sexy, and feels good. People really don't mimic the media as much as they try and act like we do.

It's been a fad among goths for well over a "few years."

Vampirism is quite common, and has been around for thousands of years...albeit a form of cannibalism.
Twilight is just a bad ripoff and butchered the vampire legend.
She took something and introduced it as a wet dream story to a bunch of hormone-crazy, shallow minded tweens.

LOL. I haven't read it, so I don't have a clue about the storyline. I'm not into vampires and the like. Guess what happened was to give permission to new and wider groups of people to behave as selected groups did before. I didn't know it is part of Goth life. Shows how far behind I am.
