The Utah Supreme Court on Tuesday overturned the rape conviction of Fundamentalist LDS Church leader Warren Jeffs, citing an "erroneous" instruction given to the jury during the 2007 trial.
In its unanimous decision, the court ordered a new trial for Jeffs, who was convicted of two counts of rape as an accomplice for his role in the "spiritual marriage" of a 14-year-old girl to her 19-year-old cousin.
