This was discussed today on HLN by Jane Velez Mitchell. They said even though it is no longer on the website, it is being passed around via email.

The site I seeded has a video that shows the manual in part and discusses its contents.

No trial, and no I don't think they deserve justice.

I know this is covered under "free speech," but it shouldn't be. Why should speech be valued more than our children? There should be a way to create an exemption for things like this that are meant to increase harm.

If I remember right, the ACLU went to bat for N.A.M.B.L.A. some years back, for a manual they put out. And again, it was covered under the First Amendment. I have grand kids, I would not and will not, put the safety of these animals over their safety.

Yes there should be a way to create exemptions to this, but they won't do it. Look at the way child molesters are treated. You can't keep them in prison, because they have serviced their time. Though they are suppose to, the police department are suppose to advise you when one moves into your neighborhood. You cannot violate their civil rights, with harassment, to get them to leave. What they tells me...if our elected officials won't do something then we should.

Loretta:

I understand ur view. Yet, if u ban a book or a concept (pedophilia), that alone elevates it and draws more attention to it. While I disagree w pedophilia, I feel that we've swung too far in restricting nudity among kids. We shame them if they r nude. We have to realize it is preferable for kids to *not* wear clothes. They will learn to cover themselves, yet, it should be on *their terms... not the parents.

We have turned the clock backwards and gone back to the Victorian ages where people were fully clothed and all. Kids don't like clothes.

The pedophiles of today (woman-child and man-child love) take things too far in wanting to have sex with the kids. I've seen kids run around nude and I think it's just a normal part of being a kid. Pedophiles think that it is an invitation to have sex.

We have to allow our kids to be safe if and when they r nude. Nudity is not wrong, in and of itself... We were not born w three-piece suits or dresses on us, at birth. But that's only my view.

The Victorian Age was pretty extreme. For instance, women were required to wear bathing costumes that were more elaborate than a ballroom gown is today. These costumes were so heavy women were drowned because of their weight. I don't see that in our clothing today.

I live in California, so perhaps my views on clothing are more liberal than in other places. My own children went nude when they were little. Not in public places but at home. They wore shorts often in public when it was warm enough.

But I required clothing when they needed it. When it was cold, they were bundled up. When they could get injured, they had sturdy clothing to protect their skin. Around our horses, they wore protective clothing and boots.

But none of that would have stopped a predator from harming them given half a chance. Predators don't need nudity to be turned on.

I am a strong supporter of free speech, but there has to be a point when actual events mean more than a word on the page and actual people mean more than an abstract right.

Our world is becoming more sexually violent because of porn and the depiction of violence during sex even in mainstream movies. Technology is making it easier and easier to cause harm to the victims and to keep the predator out of the reach of law enforcement. No longer does the pedophile have to physically stalk a potential victim. Technology enables him to stalk multiple victims long distance with little risk to himself.

We need to come to grips with this change. I don't know what the answers are, but ignoring the increasing peril shouldn't be on our horizon.

IMO, parents are the ones that show the kids what is right and wrong. Six kids, and a passel of grand babies has taught me that. While I agree there are certain things kids need to learn for themselves, there are things they need to learn from parents. I was raised, and have instilled in our kids, that you are the parent...not their best friend...not a pal, not until they leave home.

We have turned the clock backwards and gone back to the Victorian ages where people were fully clothed and all. Kids don't like clothes.

The Victorian ages were not as "prudish" as we would like to think.

The pedophiles of today (woman-child and man-child love) take things too far in wanting to have sex with the kids. I've seen kids run around nude and I think it's just a normal part of being a kid. Pedophiles think that it is an invitation to have sex.

We've had two run-ins with pedophiles. One we were not told about and our youngest daughter had become good friends with him. The other was one that moved in two doors down, from our middle daughter, with four girls (at the time they were 9 to 18 months). In the first case, I caught him in the basement. In the second, I told the man I'd give him a whole new meaning to civil rights violation. Should I have(or their parents)allowed them to learn about these people? I don't agree that nudity is something that should be overlooked when raising kids, though.

We have to allow our kids to be safe if and when they r nude. Nudity is not wrong, in and of itself... We were not born w three-piece suits or dresses on us, at birth.

I think that there are times and places when this is appropriate. The same with any other social activities.
